Yesterday Philip and I signed lots and lots of papers which eventually led to us receiving keys to our brand new condo! So, it's official we are now homeowners with a mortgage, taxes, and all that crazy stuff. It's a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with all the things we both could ever want. There is a fireplace in our living room, a full kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. We've somehow lived for two years without a microwave, so it will be a nice change to have the option of a quick heat up. You know how much I love stainless steel! I must not forget to mention a full washer and dryer.... no more trips around the corner to the laundromat!!! Anyway, so we are moving out slowly this week. Stay tuned for our address change!

Wish List (this year)
inventory
Yesterday was inventory day at work. We do everything ourselves, which is good for an accurate count but is draining on everyone. I started at 5:30 am and went home at 8:30 pm. A long 15 hour day full of high pitched beeping noises, silently cursing the computer in my head and running around looking for 5-digit fixture numbers that people conveniently forgot to scan, like the shelf with 15 unpackedged unstickered drapes, or the one with 63 random sale pillow covers. Nice.
Hoorah for days off and sleeping in!

football, snow, and taxis
Yay for the underdogs! The NY Giants won the Super Bowl in an amazing 4th quarter full of touchdowns and good kicking.
As we left our super bowl party we were overwhelmed with all the snow that had fallen outside. An easy 2-3 inches of new snow covering the trees, roads, and sidewalks. It made for a treacherous hike to find a cab on Fullerton.
Speaking of cabs, where the heck where they all. We waited a good seven minutes before seeing a cab. Thankfully he was empty and whisked us away to our north side home

Public overshare
While eating dinner at Joy's in a closely confined area, an older couple next to us was having a very awkward conversation. The main take-aways:
1. The woman was fat and has " never looked uglier in her life"
2. The man was having breathing problems related to smoking too much
3. The woman was confessing to him for the first time ever that "I think I drink too much, I mean I've been thinking for a long time that I drink too much and I've thought about telling you but was afraid and I'm afraid that I can't quit"
put a band-aid on it
That's what Philip said in response to my complaining about my inexplicably sore boy-teets. I finally figured out today what undershirts are for. I guess tight dress shirts and cold weather don't work well together:)
